न तस्य कश्चित् पतिरस्ति लोके
न चेशिता नैव च तस्य लिङ्गं।
स कारणं करणाधिपाधिपो
न चास्य कश्चित् जनिता न चाधिपः॥1

Na tasya kaschit patir-asti loke,
na che-shitaa naiva cha tasya liṅgam.
Sa kaaraṇam kara-ṇaadhi-paadhipo
na chaasva kaschit janitaa na chaadhipah.

There is none, no person whatsoever that is superior to the Master who is the lord of all the world. There is none that can rule over Him. He has no feature or distinctive mark. He is the Cause, the Lord over all the natural organs – but He is without any originator and has no superior.

त्वमेव माता च पिता त्वमेव
त्वमेव बन्धुश्च सखा त्वमेव।
त्वमेव विद्या द्रविणं त्वमेव
त्वमेव सर्वं मम देव देव 2

Tvameva maataa cha pitaa tvameva,
tvameva bandhush-cha sakhaa tvameva.
Tvameva vidyaa draviṇam tvameva
Tvameva sarvam mama deva deva

O Lord Thou art our mother and father. Thou art our brother and friend. Thou art our knowledge and wealth. Thou art everything to us O Lord.

Bhagvaan aap hee hamaare maataa pitaa hai. Aap hee hamaare bandhu aur sakhaa hai. Swamin aap hee hamaaree vidyaa tathaa dhan hai. He naath! aap hee mere sarvasva hai aur aap hee mere poojaneeya upaasya dev hai. Aap ke sthaan me kisee anya kaa bhool kar bhee mai kabhee poojan na karoo.

Brahma stotram: The first 4 verses are very similar to Verses 58-62 of the Mahanirvana Tantra which is one of the best known Tantric Scriptures reflecting a conversation between Shiva and Shakti.

The Mahanirvana Tantra describes chakra, or subtle energy structure of the human body, ceremonies, yogic practices and mantras for meditation. It also summarizes Hindu Laws (Dharma) and outlines rules for intimacy.

The last verse is a very popular chant, known by every true devotee. It represents the total acceptance and surrenders to God who is every kind of relationship one could want. This verse is found in the Pandava Gita (v28) in supplication from Gandhari to Lord Krishna.

The verse Na tasya kashchit patirasti loke is also in the Svetashvatara Upanishad.

The Tvameva maataa verse is similar to a verse in Ramanujacharya’s Sharanagati-gadyam as well as a verse The Srimad Bhagavaam. See “Tvameva maataa” link for more on this.
