Aaghaa-raavaagyaa-aahutih: Two directional oblations1

Make oblations in the Northern side of the Fire:
ओम् अग्नये स्वाहा
इदमग्नये इदं मम

Om agnaye svaahaa.
Idam agnaye, idanna mama.2

Homage to Agni the presence of the all-knowing, effulgent Power. idam This is for agnaye the energy-force, idam this is na mama not for the self.

Make oblations in the Southern side of the Fire:
ओं सोमाय स्वाहा
इदं सोमाय इदं मम

Om somaaya svaahaa.
Idam somaaya, idanna mama.3

Homage to the presence of Soma, the positive energy, (that creates tranquil thoughts, peace and harmony). Idam this is for soma continuous peace and harmony; this is na mama not for the self.

Two oblations of Ghee4

ओं प्रजापतये स्वाहा
इदं प्रजापतये इदं मम

Om prajaa-pataye svaahaa.
Idam prajaa-pataye, idanna mama.5

Homage to prajaapati, the ever-present provider, nourisher and Lord of all. Idam this is for prajaapataye continued nourishment, na mama not for the self.

इदं इन्द्राय इदं मम

Om indraaya svaahaa.
Idam indraaya, idanna mama.6

Homage to Indra the presence of Supreme Power. Idam this act is for indraaya the Supreme Power, na mama not for the self.
