Bali-vaishvadeva Yajya

बलि वैश्वदेवज्ञ

The Manusmriti says “make oblation into the fire with food prepared for meals.” Manu III, 84. (Quoted from the Satyaarth Prakash of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati). Also, traditionally, we have only offered sweet and non-salt food.

Note: Admittedly, in the current age of electrical cooking, it is impractical to offer items into the fire. However, when convenient, it can be done. Another aspect of this yajya is that a little uncooked food is always placed aside for charitable purposes.

This yajya is also done during large functions when the host can prepare an open fire. However, even though we may not have an open fire, we can offer these prayers and make symbolic offering.

With these mantras offer a little food into the fire (with the word svaahaa)
