Karagre vasate (Morning prayer)

These verses show us that the power of the entire universe rests in our own hands. When one looks at the hands in the morning, therein lies the ability to create, preserve and destroy.

कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मिः करमध्ये सरस्वति
करमूले तु गोविन्दप्रभाते करदर्शनम्

Karaagre vasate lakshmih
karamadhye sarasvatee.
Karamoole tu govindah
prabhaate karadarshanam.

At the top of the hand Palm) rests Lakshmi and at the middle rests Saraswati. At the base of the hand rests Govinda. Begin tributes by seeing your hands. (Supplication with our hands इन the morning represents supplication to Lakshmi, Saraswati and Govinda).

A different version of this verse is found in the Vishnu Puraana:

prabhaate karadarshanam.

At the top of the hand Palm) rests Lakshmi and at the middle rests Saraswati. At the base of the hand rests Brahma. (Supplication with our hands in the morning represents supplication to Lakshmi, Saraswati and Brahmaa).

A different version of this verse is also found in many places:
