Vivaah Sanskaara – Part II

Both take their first taste together of the cooked grains:

ओम्‌ अन्नपाशे मणिा प्राणसूत्रेण पृश्िा। 
बध्नामि सत्यग्रन्थिा मनश् हृदय ते॥ 

Om annapaashena maṇinaa
praaṇasootreṇa prishninaa.
Badhnaami satya-granthinaa
manashcha hridayam cha te.

O Lord bless us so that we always uphold integrity and truth. Just like grains are bound to nature and breaths are tied to each other, so may we be firm in accepting and following truth over untruth.

अन् grains पाशे nature मणिा weak without प्राणसूत्रेण thread of breath, string of breath पृश्िा ray of light बध्नामि fix, seal, bind सत्यग्रन्थिा तह the knot or bind of truth मनः mind हृदयम्‌ heart and ते your

ओम्‌ यदेतद्धृदयं तव तदस्तु हृदयमम। 
यदिदꣳ हृदयमम तदस्तु हृदयतव॥  

Om yadetad-dhridayam tava tadastu hridayam mama.
Yadidam hridayam mama tadastu hridayam tava.

May we be strong emotionally to remain connected and to let our hearts be concordant with each other.

यत् this एतत् that धृदयम्‌ strong, firm तव your तत् that अस्तु be हृदयम्‌ heart मम mine, me यत् that इदम्‌ this हृदयम्‌ heart 

ओम्‌ अन्प्राणस्य षड्विंशस्तेन बध्नामि त्वा असौ॥

Say bride’s name in place of asau

Om annam praaṇasya ṣhaḍvinsha-astena bandhnaami tvaa (asau). 

May all of our intake of grains lead to healthy life, healthy body and numerous health benefits.
