First & Last Mantras of Vedas

Atharva Veda

The first verse of the Atharva Veda addresses the understanding of God whose power and creation is vast and immeasurable. God is the Creator of all known and unknown, all forms and all materials. The verse pays homage to the Almighty and the subtle communication between the Self and the Supreme. This verse incorporates all elements of the world, its creation, its maintenance and its peoples and their dharma, practises and language. Thrice Seven is mentioned as the complex number of elements in human existence. The number 21 is comprises of divisors 1, 3 and 7 but these numbers cannot add up to 21. It is a triangular number since it is the sum of the first six natural numbers (1+2+3+4+5+6). The numbers 3 and 7 hold their own uniqueness.

The last verse of the Atharva Veda calls on humanity to unite and live in peace and to ensure that their leaders are respectful, respectable and can lead their people.
