Baṛee der bhaee nandalala

Baṛee der bhaee nandalaalaa teree raah take brijbaalaa
Gvaal-baal ik-ik se poochhe kahaa hai murlee waalaa re

Koee naa jaane kunj galin me tujh bin kaliyaa chunne ko
Taras rahe hai jamunaa ke taṭ dhun murlee kee sunne ko
Ab to daras dikaa de naṭkhaṭ kyo duvidhaa me ḍaalaa re

Sankaṭ me hai aaj vo dhartee jis par toone janam liyaa
Pooraa kar de aaj vachan vo geetaa me jo toone diyaa
Koee nahee hai tujh bin mohan bhaarat kaa rakhwaalaa re

It is very late, O darling of Nand. Everyone awaits you. Everyone, especially the children asks for you. Where is Murali?

No one picks flowers without you. Everyone craves for you, waiting on the banks of the Yamuna River, to listen to your magical flute. Give us a glimpse now please, O playful One. Why put us in this dilemma?
Today, O Lord, that same land in which you were born, that land is in trouble. Please complete the promise that you made in the Bhagavad Gita. O Lord, none except you is the Guardian of Bharat (India)

Mohammed Rafi; Movie: Khandan 1965; Lyricist: Rajendra Krishan; Composer Ravi Shankar Sharma.
