Baabul kaun ghaṛee ye aayee
Kal thee maì teree laaḍalee beṭee
Ho gayee aaj paraayee
Saajan kaa jab aaye bulaavaa
Koee bhaṛaa mane raadha
Toṛ ke pinjraa uṛ jaaye chiṛiyaa

Solah baras toone goad khilaayaa
Baahò mè le kar jhoolaa jhulaayaa
Gale lagaayaa aaj na kyò jab

Lekin maìne kismat

O Dad, what a strange moment that now comes. Yesterday I was just your darling child and today I get married and becomes a stranger.
When the call comes to go to the marriage home, like a bird the bride will fly unrestricted, freeing herself from attachments of her parents home even though the music may be sad.
In my young days, you took care of me and fed me within your embrace and love. But today in my farewell, I did not get your hugs. I miss your hug.
As I depart from my parent’s home, the world’s wealth is given to me but as I leave, I leave with tears.
Mohammad Rafi; Movie: Umang (1970)
