Dayaamai jyoti man mandir dayaa kar jagamagaa jaavo,
Andhere kee pareshaanee niraasha ko hataajaavo.
Are juganoo niraalankaar tim tim kar sujhaa isako,
Nahee maarag kahee lakhataa mujhe dhruv paar lejaavo.
Pujaaree bhakti pushpo se rijhaataa gandh dravyo se,
Vinaya meree suno bhagavan tarasataa ab lakhaajaavo.
Nahee laanaa mujhe tumako pitaa sharano paraa tere,
Stavo ke prem me guth ke khilo deepak jagaajaavo.
Yahaa hai vighna baadhaaye bhatakataa jhaariyo phirataa,
Tatoloo shubhra jyotsnaa ko isee pratibodh se aavo
O Merciful one! Grant your mercy unto me and let your divine light be alight in my mind’s temple. Please remove all tension, depression and despair from within me.
Like a candle fly with no discernible flame, you are the infallible light. Please be the guiding star that will lead me through the unseen pathway of life.
This devotee can worship with flowers or incense but all the materials are made by you. Please listen to my prayer O lord. Please satisfy my desire for a vision of you.
I do not only come to your shelter, O Lord. I will always be immersed in love for you while I sing my praises for you.
Here in this world, one could spend one’s lifetime wandering through the disturbances and obstacles of life. I fumble through life in anticipation of the guidance from your soft moon-like light.
