Duhkh haro dvaarakaanaath

Tum kahàà chhupe bhagavaan karo mat deree,
Duhkh haro dvaarakaa-naath, sharan mài teree.

Yahee sunaa hai deenabandhu tum sabakaa dukh har lete
Jo niraash hài unakee jholee aasha se bhar dete
Agar sudaama hota mài to daud dvaaraka aata
Pààv aansuò se dho kar mài man kee aag bujhaata
Tum bano nahèè anajaan, suno bhagavaan, karo mat deree

Jo bhee sharan tumhaaree aata, usako dheer bandhaate
Nahèè doobane dete daata, naiya paar lagaate
Tum na sunoge to kisako mài apanee vyatha sunaòò
Dvaar tumhaara chhoṛ ke bhagavan aur kahàà mài jaòò
Prabhu kab se raha pukaar, mài tere dvaar, karo mat deree

Please answer my call O Lord. Why are you hiding from me, why are you silent? O Lord, please hear my call. I seek your shelter.

O Lord, you are the remover of pains and the hope for the hopeless. As Sudama did, I desire to come to your door and wash your feet with my tears (of love). Do not delay, dear Lord, hear my prayer.

O Lord you take away all sorrows and satisfy whoever seeks your help. For those that desire your help, you take their hands and lead them over the ocean of life. Lord, if you do not hear my prayer, then whom shall I turn to? Where else can I seek protection? O Master of the world, I have been at your door for some time now, do accept my prayers now, O Lord.

A non-filmi Bhajan by the great Mukesh
