Sun le, sun le.
Mȧi aaya tere dvaare
bachaa le, bhagvaan
Haath joṛkar vintee kartaa
ye baalak naadan
Mȧi aaya tere dvaare…
Jitne sahaare the, sab haare
Teraa ek sahaaraa hai
Deen dukhee jan kaa is jag me
too hee to rakhvaaraa hai
Zulm ke toofaȧ kaise jhele
Ek nanhee see jaan
Mȧi aaya tere dvaare……
Bhakt druv ne tujhko pukaaraa
Tune diyaa sahaaraa thaa
Jab prahlaad pe vipat paṛee
Toone hee sankaṭ ṭaaraa thaa
Aaj meree baaṛee bhagavan
Karo dayaa kaa daan
Mȧi aaya tere dvaare……
Jiske man mė paap ho
Vo hee ghabraataa hai
Paapee apne paap kaa
Phal buraa hai
Aaj tujhe dene honge
Praaṇo ke badle praaṇ
Praaṇo ke badle praaṇ
Praaṇo ke badle praaṇ
O Dear Lord please hear my call. I come to your door, O dear Lord, please save me. This innocent child of yours comes to plead with folded hands.
O Lord, all my support in this world is lost, gone from me; you are the only one that I can turn to. You, O Master, are the protector of all the poor and unhappy people. O Lord, how can such an insignificant life as mine be able to handle the storms of oppression and challenges in this world, O my lord?
O Lord, when the great devotee Druva called on you, you supported his call. When disaster befell the great Prahlad, you were the one who averted his troubles. Today is my turn, my dear Lord. Please show me your mercy.
Only he who keeps sin is his heart is scared of You. A sinner will always reap the consequences of his actions. Today I beg for your gift of life for which I am prepared to make my entire life yours.
Dhadkan (1972); Lata Mangeshkar
