Pitaajee tum patit-uddhaaraṇ-haar
Deen sharaṇ kangaal ke swaamee
dukh ke mochanhaar
Is jag maayaa jaal bhraman me
soojhe na saar asaar
Satya jyaan bin andh sam dole
kare asatya aachaar
Paap pravaah bhayankar jal me
doobat hai majh-dhaar
Tumharee dayaa bin ko samarath hal
kare deen ko paar
Lord, you are the ever-present Supreme Father of the weak and fallen. You allow us to repent and reform our lives.
You are the shelter and protector for those who are meek, those who are poor, those who have faith, and those who are experiencing sorrow and grief. You are our refuge.
This world is a web of illusions which we are temporarily visiting. When caught in this illusion we lose our focus on what is real and unreal and the journey of life makes no sense.
Without truth, without Vedic wisdom, people can wander like they are blind and lost and in so doing commit sins and atrocities.
With the flow of sins like a raging stream, we are in danger of drowning midstream if we are caught in the web of sins.
Lord, without your mercy and grace we are incapable of redemption. Please cast your mercy upon us so that we can overcome sins, poverty, and disaster.
