आज सुनो हम गीत विदा का गा रहे
दो दुखियारे पंछी बिछडे जा रहे
बहुत दिनों के साथी हाय जुदा होते
गुम सूम अखियाँ में आंसू आ रहे
कोई मत पूछो कौन है ये क्यों रोते है
इस जग में ऐसे भी अभागे होते है
लुट गए फिर भी दिल का दर्द छिपा रहे
दो दुखियारे पंछी बिछडे जा रहे
Today I sing of the unhappiness that arises out of separation. Like birds living together, we are fearful of
separation and we weep upon separation from each other.
Tears flow when friends who have known each other for a long time separate.
No one cares to ask who is it that causes your tears. This world has such unfortunate persons.
Once can quietly bear the heartache when, like two sad birds, they are separated.
