घंटी बज जाये कब कूच की
मौत हरदम सिरहाने खड़ी
याद करले घडी …
किन्ही शुभ कर्मो का फल है ये
तुझे मानव का चोला मिला
जो आएगा है जायेगा वो
बंद होगा न ये सिलसिला
वेद की कहती एक एक कड़ी
याद करले घडी दो घडी…
इस जवानी पे इतरा ना तू
बातो बातो में बीत जाएगी
उभरा सीना सिकुड़ जायेगा
और कमर तेरी झुक जायेगी
लेकर के चलेगा छड़ी
याद करले घडी दो घडी…
जो करना है, ले आज कर
कुछ खबर प्यारे कल की नहीं
मानव चोले को करले सफल
ढील दे इसमें पल की नहीं
टूट सांसो की जाये लड़ी
याद करले घडी दो घडी
The grace of the Lord is a gift deep and wide,
Remember Him now, with nowhere to hide.
Who knows when the bell for your journey will sound?
For Death’s waiting shadow is always around.
Your birth as a human, a prize you have won,
A fruit of good karma from deeds you have done.
But all those who come here are destined to go,
An endless procession, a cyclical flow,
A truth that the scriptures have taught and have shown.
Don’t revel in youth, for its pride disappears,
It fades in the chatter and passing of years.
The chest that is puffed out will shrink and grow thin,
Your strong, straight back will begin to cave in,
And soon you will walk with a cane and a stoop.
Whatever you must do, just do it today,
Tomorrow is promised to no one, they say.
So make this life worthy, don’t waste it in vain,
Don’t squander a moment in sunshine or rain,
Before the fine thread of your breathing gives way.

Remember, everything is by God’s grace. Remember this constantly. We do not know when our final moment in life will be; therefore, always think of Him so that when it is really the final moment, we will depart thinking of Him.
Due to our good actions in the previous birth, we were given a human body for this life. Birth and death are continuous. Think of God all the time, and this continuous cycle will be more meaningful and easier for us. Human birth will be ours. This is the message of the Vedas.
Youthfulness, as a stage of life, does not last forever, so do not be proud of your youthful stage of life. You see that as you live longer, the youthfulness goes, and in its place our muscles shrink and our shoulders slouch. Soon, we may need a walking stick to support us. Think of God constantly, and all of this will be easier. Your life will be well-balanced.
Whatever you have to do, do it now. You do not know when you will have another opportunity to do it again. Do today what you have to do tomorrow. Do not waste your life, use it fully, and be successful. Make full use of every moment, because you do not know when your final moment may arrive.
