The prepared grains, khitchree and ghee are offered
ओं धाता ददातु दाशुषे प्राची जीवातुमक्षिताम् ।
वयं देवस्य धीमहि सुमति वाजिनीवतो स्वाहा ॥
इदं धात्रे इदन्न मम ॥
Om dhaataa dadaatu daashushe
praachee jeevaatum-akshitam.
Vayam devasya dheemahi
sumatim vaajinvati svaahaa.
Idam dhaatre idanna mama.1
We meditate on You, O Benevolent Giver of life. You are the one who gives us life and strength. O Life-giving Force, please bless us with health and strength, growth and development, wisdom and freedom from diseases.
धाता God the Giver, God the one who balances everything ददातु give, endow दाशुषे worship प्राची ahead, former जीवातुम life-giving force अक्षिताम् non-decaying, cannot be destroyed वयम् we देवस्य to god धीमहि meditate सुमति wisdom, all-wise वाजिनीवतो bestower of strength
ओं धाता प्रजानामुत राय ईशे धातेदं विश्वं भुवनं जजान ।
धाता कृष्टीरनिमिषाभि चष्टे धात्र इद्धव्यं घृतवज्जुहोत स्वाहा ॥
इदं धात्रे इदन्न मम ॥
Om dhaataa prajaanaamuta raaya eeshe
dhaatedam vishvam bhuvanam jajaana.
Dhaataa kriṣhṭeer-animishaabhi chaṣhṭe
dhaatra iddhavyam ghritavaj-juhota svaahaa.2

Homage to you, O Benevolent Lord. You are the giver of life, and you grant us health, growth, wisdom, and all the essential things for a happy life. You are ever vigilant in the preservation of the world. You are the Creator and preserver of the entire world and all living beings. Please bless us with the wisdom, strength, and riches needed for a successful life.

ओं राकामहं सुहवां सुष्टुती हुवे शृणोतु नः सुभगा बोधतु त्मना ।
सीव्यत्वपः सूच्याच्छिद्यमानया ददातु वीरं शतदायमुख्यम् स्वाहा ॥
इदं राकायै इदन्न मम ॥
Om raakaam-aham suhavaam suṣhṭutee huve
shrinotu nah subhagaa bodhat-utmanaa.
Seevyat-vapah soochyaach-chhidyamaanayaa
dadaatu veeram shatadaayam-ukthyam svaahaa.3

O beautiful lady, your countenance is like the full moon, glowing and lovely. Please listen to my expression of tender and loving words. I pray today that you are always blessed with wisdom and good fortune. May you always be calm and pure in your thoughts and actions. May you always keep us united like the moon pulling the waters of Earth. May you give us a strong, noble and brave child who will be praiseworthy in his innumerable work to uplift the world.
राकाम् full moon, illuminated अहम् I, me सुहवाम् one who listens willingly सुष्टुती sweetest of praises हुवे say, exclaim शृणोतु please listen attentively नः us, my सुभगा good fortune बोधतु through wisdom and understanding त्मना mindful, your mind सीव्यत् join together, unite अपः calm like water सूच्या pure in conduct अच्छिद्यमानय not fragile, strong ददातु bestow, give, grant, dedicate वीरं brave शतदायम् hundred-fold, numberable times उक्थ्यम् praiseworthy
यास्ते राके सुमतयः सुपेशसो याभिर्ददासि दाशुषे वसूनि ।
ताभिर्नो अद्य सुमना उपागहि सहस्रपोषं सुभरो रराणा स्वाहा ॥
इदं राकायै इदन्न मम ॥
Yaaste raake sumatayah supeshaso
yaabhir-dadaasi daashushe vasooni.
Taabhirno adya sumanaa upaagahi
sahasra-posham subhage raraanaa svaahaa.4

O intelligent lady, you are always glowing, peaceful, and beautiful. I pray today that we are blessed with unmeasurable wealth and will always be able to make innumerable acts of generosity. May you always give me the benefit of your wisdom so that we remain devoted to God and have an exemplary life.
यस्तै entrusted राके beautiful (like the moon) सुमतयः intelligent, well-shaped, beautiful सुपेशसः well-adorned, beautiful, lovely याभि whereby, that ददासि bestow दाशुषे pious, devout वसूनि wealth, bringing fortune ताभि with these नः I, me, us अद्य today सुमना generous उपागहि attain, go, approach सहस्रपोषं thousand-fold, innumerable सुभर abundant रराण bountiful, bestowing
Prayers for pregnancy to full term
नेजमेष परा पत सुपुत्रः पुनरा पत ।
अस्यै मे पुत्रकामायै गर्भमा धेहि यः पुमान्त्स्वाहा ॥
Nejameṣha paraa pata
suputrah punaraa pata.
Asyai me putra-kaamaayai
garbhamaa dhehi yah pumaant-svaahaa.5
O Lord, we are desirous of having our children. Please safeguard this mother so that she carries the child to full term. May there be no risk of injury to her or the child. May we be blessed to ensure that we keep things that are not beneficial far away. My we be blessed with a healthy child who will also be blessed with other siblings.
नेजमेष not beneficial परापत depart, go away सुपुत्रः excellent child, perfect child पुनरापत threat of negatives, injury etc, to leave and never to return अस्यै of this मे me पुत्रकामायै desirous of children गर्भमा pregnancy धेहि bestow, grant यः this, that पुमान्त् having a sibling न एजम not affecting in any way
यथेयं पृथिवी मह्युत्ताना गर्भमा दधे ।
एवं त गर्भमा धेहि दशमे मासि सूतवे स्वाहा ॥
Yatheyam prithivee mahi-uktaanaam garbhamaa dadhe.
Evam ta garbhamaa dhehi dashame maasi sootave svaahaa.6
O Lord, Please give us your protection. Just as the earth holds everyone to their full time of life, may this pregnancy be held and protected for the full term months.
यत इयं that just as पृथिवी earth मही honored उत्तान upright गर्भमा pregnancy दधे give, bestow एवम् thus त you गर्भमा month of pregnancy धेहि grant दशमे ten मासि months सूत born
विष्णोः श्रेष्ठेन रूपेणास्यां नार्या गवीन्याम् ।
पुमासं पुत्राना धेहि दशमे मासि सूतवे स्वाहा ॥७॥
Viṣhṇoh shreṣhṭhena roopeṇaasyaam naaryaa gaveenyaam.
Pumaasam purtaanaa dhehi dashame maasi sootave svaahaa.7
O Lord, please bless us so that there is no risk of premature birth. May this mother be blessed to carry the baby to full term and thus bring a beautiful and perfect child to us. May our child be blessed to be Godly in all aspects of life, including health, prosperity, and wisdom.
विष्णोः Godly श्रेष्ठेन best, excellent रूपेण form, appearance अस्यां like this, of this नार्य strong, powerful गवीन्याम् prosperity, wealth, property पुमासं having siblings पुत्राना sons, children धेहि grant, give दशमे ten मासि months सूत born
ओं भूर्भुवः स्वः।
प्रजापते न त्वदेतान्यन्यो विश्वा जातानि परिताबभूव।
यत्कामास्ते जुहुमस्तन्नो अस्तु वयं स्याम पतयो रयिणाम् स्वाहा।
इदमग्नये प्रजापतये इदन्न मम।
Om bhoor-bhuvah svah.
Prajaapate na tvade-taan-yanyo
vishvaa jaataani paritaa-babhoova.
Yat-kaamaaste juhumas-tanno astu
vayam syaama patayo rayee-ṇaam svaahaa.
Idam agnaye prajaapataye, idanna mama.8
Homage to the One who is dearer to me than life itself, the Dispeller of all misery, the Giver of bliss, lord of all. None other than you is the excelling force within each particle of all that came into being. Whatever desires we pray for are fulfilled (by you), may we be in control (like a father) of luxury and wealth.
भूः the One dearer to me than life itself र्भुवः dispeller of negative influences, protector from evil स्वः blissful प्रजापते Lord of all, Creator न not, no (negative prefix) त्वत् than you एतानि these अन्य other विश्वा world, all, (all of everything – entire world) जातानि that which is created परितः on all sides is, the act of being, becoming, arising, the place of being (भूः physical existence) यत् whichever कामः desire ते you जुहुमः pray for तत् that नः our अस्तु may be so, so be it वयम् we स्याम may be so, so be it पतयो lord, ruler, leader रयिणाम् wealth स्वाहा adoration, homage इदमग्नये this fire procedure/process प्रजापतये lord of all इदम् this नः not मम mine, my

अग्निष्टत् स्विष्टकृद् विद्यात् सर्वं स्विष्टं सुहुतं करोतु मे।
अग्नये स्विष्टकृते सहुतहुते सर्वप्रायश्चित्ताहुतीनां कामानां
समर्धयित्रे सर्वान्नः कामान्त्समर्द्धय स्वाहा।
इदमग्नये स्विष्टकृते इदन्न मम।
Om yadasya karmaṇo‘tya-ree-richam
yadvaa nyoonam-ihaa-karam.
Agniṣh-ṭat sviṣhṭa-kṛid vidyaat sarvam
sviṣhṭam suhutam karotu me.
Agnaye sviṣhṭa-kṛite suhuta-hute
sarva-praayash-chitta-ahuteenaam
kaamaanaam samar-dha-yitre
sarvaanah kaamaant-samardhayah svaahaa.

अष्टाग्याहुतयः – Ashṭaagya-ahuti
Eight special oblations
ओं त्वन्नो अग्ने वरुणस्य विद्वान् देवस्य हेळोऽवयासिसीष्ठाः।
यजिष्ठो वह्नितमः शोशुचानो विश्वा द्वेषांसि प्र मुमुग्ध्यसमत् स्वाहा।
इदमग्नीवरुणाभ्याम् इदन्न मम।
Om tvanno agne varuṇasya vidvaan
devasya hedo vayaa-si-sheeṣh-ṭhaah
yajiṣhṭho vah-ni-tamah sho-shu-chaan-no
vishvaa dveṣhaansi
pra mumug-dhyas-mat svaahaa.
Idam-agni-varuṇaa-bhyaam, idanna mama.12
ओं स त्वन्नो अग्नेऽवमो भवोती नेदिष्ठो अस्या उषसो व्युष्टौ।
अव यक्ष्व नो वरुणं रराणो वीहि मृडीकं सुहवो न एधि स्वाहा।
इदमग्नीवरुणाभ्याम् इदन्न मम।
Om sa tvanno agne-‘vamo bhavotee
nediṣhṭho asyaa oṣhaso vyuṣhṭau.
Ava yakshva no varuṇam raraaṇo
veehi mṛideekam suhavo no edhi svaahaa.
Idam-agni-varuṇaa-bhyaam, idanna mama.13
ओम् इमं मे वरुण श्रुधी हवमद्या च मृडय।
त्वामवस्युराचके स्वाहा।
इदं वरुणाय इदन्न मम।
Om imam me varuṇa shrudhee
havam-adyaa cha mṛidaya.
Tvaam-avasyur-aachake svaahaa.
Idam varuṇaaya, idanna mama.14
ओं तत्त्वा यामि ब्रह्मणा वन्दमानस्तदाशास्ते यजमानो हविर्भिः।
अहेडमानो वरुणेह बोध्युरुशंस मा न आयुः प्रमोषीः स्वाहा।
इदं वरुणाय इदन्न मम।
Om tat-tvaa yaami brahmaṇaa
van-dam-aanas tadaa-shaaste
yajamaano havirbhih.
Aheda-maano varuṇeha
bodh-yuru-shansa maa na
aayuh pramoṣheeh svaahaa.

ओं ये ते शतं वरुण ये सहस्रं यज्ञियाः पाशा वितता महान्तः।
तेभिर्नो अद्य सवितोत विष्णुर्विश्वे मुञ्चन्तु मरुतः स्वर्काः स्वाहा।
इदं वरुणाय सवित्रे विष्णवे विश्वेभ्यो
देवेभ्यो मरुद्भ्यः स्वर्केभ्यः इदन्न मम।
Om ye te shatam varuṇa ye sahastram
yajiyaah paashaa vitataa mahaantah.
Tebhirno adya savitota viṣhṇur-vishve
muṅchantu marutah svar-kaah svaahaa.
Idam varuṇaaya savitre
viṣhṇave vishve-bhyo devebhyo
marud-bhyah svarke-bhyah,
idanna mama.16
ओं अयाश्चाग्नेस्यनभिशस्तिपाश्च सत्यमित्त्वमयासि।
अया नो यज्ञं वहास्याया नो धेहि भेषजं स्वाहा।
इदमग्नये अयसे इदन्न मम।
Om ayaash-chaagne-
‘syanabhi-shasti-paashcha
satyam-ittwam-ayaasi.
Ayaa no yajyam vahaas-ya-yaa no
dhehi bheṣha-jam svaahaa.
Idam agnaye ayase, idanna mama.17
ओम् उदुत्तमं वरुण पाशमस्मदवाधमं वि मध्यमं श्रथाय।
अथा वयमादित्य व्रते तवानागसो आदितये स्याम स्वाहा।
इदं वरुणायाऽदित्यायाऽदित्ये च इदन्न मम।
Om udut-tamam varuṇa
paasham-asmad-avaa-dhamam
vi madhyamam shrathaaya.
Athaa vayam-aaditya vrate
tavaa-naagaso aaditaye syaama svaahaa.
Idam varuṇaaya-aadityaaya-aditye cha, idanna mama.18
ओं भवतं नः समनसौ सचेतसावरेपसौ।
मा यज्ञं हिमंशिष्टं मा यज्ञपतिं जातवेदसौ
शिवौ भवतमद्य नः स्वाहा।
इदं जातवेदोभ्याम् इदन्न मम।
Om bhavatan nah samana-sou
sacheta-saa-vare-pasau.
Maa yajyam him-siṣhṭam
maa yajya-patim jaata-vedasau
shivau bhavatam-adya nah svaahaa.
Idam jaata-vedo-bhyaam, idanna mama.19
Vyaahriti-aahuti
ओं भूरग्नये स्वाहा।
इदं अग्नये इदन्न मम।
Om bhoor-agnaye svaahaa.

ओं भुवर्वायवे स्वाहा।
इदं वायवे इदन्न मम।
Om bhuvar-vaayave svaahaa.
Idam vaayave, idanna mama.
ओं स्वरादित्याय स्वाहा।
इदमादित्याय इदन्न मम।
Om svar-aadityaaya svaahaa.
Idam-aadityaaya, idanna mama.
ओं भूर्भुवः स्वरगीवाय्वादित्येभ्यः स्वाहा।
इदमग्निवाय्वादित्येभ्यः इदन्न मम।
