Bande man ke ganḍe
Chale niṣphal sȧȧs tumhaare
Din to guzare dhan kee dhan mė
Neend shaam guzaare.
Naina nashe mė choor rahe, pag satsang se door rahe
Haath kare na daan kabhee, kaan sune nahee gyaan kabhee
Dharma karma vyvahaar nahee, maat pitaa se pyaar nahee
Jihvaa madhur bachan nahee bole, kaṛave vachan ujaare
Dhan daulat jo paas tere hai, naukar chaakar daas tere
Bahut hai kaarobaar teraa, itnaa baṛaa parivaar teraa
Building aur makaan sabhee, baag bageeche shaan sabhee
Ik din chhoṛ ke sab jaanaa hai, dono haath pasaare
Jisne tujhe hai janma diyaa, usko na kabhee toone yaad kiyaa
Viṣhyo mė itnaa phool gayaa, parampitaa ko bhool gayaa
Uske binaa koee ṭhaur nahee, pathik sahaaraa aur nahee
Parameshvar kee sharaṇ mė aajaa, taj ke sabhee sahaare
We spend so much time without purpose, we waste our breaths in fruitless pursuits of wealth and material gains. Our mind becomes dirty. Our days are spent gathering material wealth and our nights are spent sleeping.
Our eyes seek out fascinating sights, our feet take us away from worship. Our hands do not give charity and our ears are not attuned to hearing words of wisdom. Our lifestyle ignores righteousness and we do not even serve our parents. Unfortunately, we do not even utter sweet words as we speak only bitter and negative words.
One day we have to leave everything and go. All of the money and riches, servants, properties, businesses, family, gardens, lawns, all will be left one day.
We even forget the very person who brought us into the world as we get so busy with all of the things of life. We forget all about the Almighty. But, there is no place where God is not. Realise this and seek His shelter which is superior to everything in the material world.
बन्दे man, human मन के गंडे dirty mind चले let’s go निष्फल fruitless सांस breath तुम्हारे your दिन days, time गुज़रे undergo, pass off धन wealth नींद sleep, slumber शाम evening, nights गुज़रे pass off, undergo नैन eyes नशे intoxication चूर bits and pieces पग feet सत्संग worship दूर away हाथ hands दान charity कान ears सुने hear नहीं not ज्ञान knowledge धर्म righteousness कर्म action व्यवहार demeanor, dealing, behavior मात पिता parents धार serve/offering, stream जिह्वा tongue मधुर sweet बचन voice बोले speak कड़वे bitter वचन voice उजारे utter धन money दौलत wealth, riches पास near नौकर servant चाकर slave दास dependent कारोबार business, undertaking बड़ा big परिवार family बिल्डिंग buildings मकान house बाग़ park बगीचे garden शान pride, dignity, इक दिन one day छोड़ leave सब जाना all go दोनों हाथ both hands पसारे spread open जिसने who, that person तुझे you जन्म दिया birth/born from उसको you न not याद remember विषयों में in respect इतना so much फूल गया परमपिता beautiful god भूल forget ठौर place/accommodation पथिक traveller सहारा support, sustain परमेश्वर god शरण shelter, refuge ताज crown, on top, superior सहारे support
