Hey Sharade Maa

Hey Sharde Maa Hey Sharade Maa
Agyaantaa se hame taar de maa

Too svar kee devee ye sangeet tujhse
Har shabd teraa hai har geet tujhse
Ham hai akele ham hai adhoore
Teree sharaṇ ham hame pyaar de maa

Muniyo ne samjhee guniyo ne jaanee
Vedo kee bhaasha puraṇo kee baanee
Ham bhee to samjhe ham bhee to jaane
Vidyaa ka haamko vardaan de maa

Too swetavarṇe kamal pe viraaje
Haatho me veena mukut sir pe saaje
Man se hamaare miṭaa ke andhere
Hamko ujaalo ka sansaar de maa

O Divine Mother. Save me from ignorance.

You are the Heavenly Goddess and the very sound of space. Every expression of yours is a divine song. I am alone and I am in the darkness of ignorance. I prostrate to your feet. Save me, O Mother.

The rishis who meditate and those who perform good acts (make me) all cannot understand the wisdom of the Veda and the sound of the Purana. O Mother, grant me your blessings of wisdom so that I may understand and know you.

You sit in the transparent flower with music in hand and a crown on your head. O Divine Mother, please erase the darkness of ignorance from my mind. Put light on me and in the entire world.
