Khoyaa-khoyaa chaand, khulaa aasmaan
Aankhȯ mė saaree raat jaayegee
Tumko bhee kaise neend aayegee
Mastee bharee, hawaa jo chalee
Khil-khil gayee ye dil kee kalee
Man kee galee mė hai khalbalee,
ke unko to bulaao
Taare chale, nazaare chale
Sang-sang mere vo saare chale
Chaarȯ taraf ishaare chale,
kisee ke to ho jaao
Aisee hee raat, bheegee se raat
Haathȯ mė haath, hote wo saath
Keh lete unse dil ki ye baat,
ab to naa sataao
Ham miṭ chale, jinkе liye
Bin kuch kahe voh chup-chup rahe
Koee zaraa ye unse kahe,
na aise aazmaao
The lost moon in the open sky, the whole night will fly before your eyes, How will you be able to sleep? Oh, the lost moon
The blowing wind is filled with intoxication, The flower of my heart has blossomed. There is a desire in my soul, for I must call out to her.
Stars go, sights go, and they all go along with me. Signals come from every direction, that I must become someone else’s.
On a rainy night like this, if she was beside me, hand in hand, I would tell her these words from my heart, Now do not torture me
The person for whom I would disappear, without saying a word, sits quietly, Someone please tell her to not test me like this.
Kala Bazar (1960); Mohammed Rafi
