Pathar ke sanam tujhe hamne
Mohabbat ka khuda jaana
Baṛee bhool huyee are hamne
Yeh kyaa samjhaa, yeh kyaa jaana
Pathar ke sanam
Cheraa teraa dil mė liye
Chalte rahe angarȯ pe
Tu ho kaheė sajde kiye
Hamne tere ruksarȯ ke
Ham saa naa ho koyee deevaanaa
Pathar ke sanam…
Sochaa thaa yeh baṛh jaayengee
Tanhaiyaȧ jab raatȯ kee
Rastaa hamė dikhlaayegee
Sham-e-vafaa un haathȯ kee
Thokar lagee tab pehchaanaa
Pathar ke sanam…
Aye kaash ke hotee khabar
Toone kise thukraayaa hai
Sheeshaa nahee, sagar nahee
Mandir saa ik dil ḍhaayaa hai
Thaa aasman hai veeraanaa
Pathar ke sanam…
O cold-hearted beloved, I considered you as the divinity of love. I made a mistake in understanding you.
I walked on burning embers and yet kept your face in my heart. I prayed to be able to find you somewhere. There’s no one as crazy as me.
I thought that when the loneliness of the nights increases, then your hands will show me the path, just like the light of loyalty. But, I have learned my lesson after falling down.
I hope you understand this person whom have you left alone. You have broken a heart that is like a temple and not a mirror or an ocean. The entire sky seems to be like ruins.
