Pyaar deevaanaa hotaa hai
mastaanaa hotaa hai
Har khushee se, har gham se
begaanaa hotaa hai
Shamaa kahe parvaane se
pare chalaa jaa
Meree tarah jal jaayegaa
yahaan naheė aa
Voh naheė suntaa usko
jal jana hota hai
Har khushi se…
Rahe koee sau pardȯ mė
ḍare sharam se
Nazar ajee laakh churaaye
koee sanam se
Aa hee jaataa hai jis pe
dil aana hotaa hai
Har khushee se…
Suno kisee shayar ne yeh
kahaa bahut khoob
Manaa kare duniyaa lekin
mere mehboob
Voh chhalak jataa hai jo
paimaanaa hotaa hai
Har khushee se…
Love is crazy and yet wonderful, it is totally unaware of happiness and sadness.
A flame tells the moth, to go far away. “Do not come here or you will burn like me”, the flame says to the moth. But the moth does not listen, being attracted to the flame it burns anyway. It is unaware of happiness and sadness.
Even if someone were to hide behind numerous layers of curtains, no matter how much they hide from love, the heart will still fall in love when it has to and then it becomes unaware of happiness and sadness.
A poet said it nicely, A water jug will overflow when it is unaware of the water flowing into it, even if the world forbids it.
Kati Patang (1971); Kishore Kumar
