Toraa man darpaṇ kahalaaye
Bhale bure saare karmȯ ko
dekhe aur dikhaaye
Toraa man…
Man hee devataa, man hee eeshvar
man se baṛaa na koi
Man ujiyaaraa jab jab phaile
jag ujiyaaraa hoi
Is ujale darpaṇ pe praaṇee
dhool na jamane paaye
Toraa man…
Sukh kee kaliyaȧ, dukh ke kaȧṭe
man sabkaa aadhaar
Man se koee baat chhupe naa
man ke nain hazaar
Jag se chaahe bhaag lo koee
man se bhaag na paaye
Toraa man…
Tan kee daulat ḍhalatee chhaayaa
man kaa dhan anmol
Tan ke kaaraṇ man ke dhan ko
mat maaṭi mė raund
Man kee kadar bhulaanevaalaa
veeraȧ janam gavaaye
Toraa man…
Your mind is like the mirror of life. It reflects both the good and the bad as it watches the flow and reveals all.
The mind is an object of attention, worthy of devotion. The mind is God. There is no greater than the mind. When the mind is enlightened, the world becomes clear and perceivable. Do not let the bad habits and misuse settle like dust on this mirror.
Buds of happiness or thorns of sorrow, the mind is the basis, the very foundation of everything and all our feelings. The mind is very perceptive and is like having innumerable eyes from which nothing can be hidden. One can try to run away from problems or one can try to turn away from the whole world, but, one can never run away from their own mind.
The wealth we see as our body will fade with age, but the wealth of the mind is priceless and infinite. Do not crush your mind because of your bodily needs. Your mind is the mirror of your life. That person who forgets the value of his own mind lives and dies lonely and desolate.
Kaajal (1965) Asha Bhosle
