Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa

Mȧi sunaataa hu tujhe ek kahaanee sun le
O mere laal zaraa meree zubaanee sun le
Mere nanhe mere munne meree aulaad hai too
Maine bhagvaan se jo kee thee vo fariyaad hai too

Baap hu teraa magar tujhko khilaa saktaa nahee
Donȯ hathȯ se kabhee tujhko uthaa saktaa nahee
Tu agar chahe ke ban jaau mai teraa ghoṛaa
Jo naa ban paao to dukh hogaa tujhe bhee to
Lekin ek baat mere bache tujhe yaad rahe
Dil teree maa kaa tere pyaar se aabaad rahe

Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa apnee maataa kaa rakhvaalaa
Badkismat ke ghar me huaa hai paidaa kismat vaalaa
Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa apnee maataa kaa rakhvaalaa

Tere do hathȯ kee taakat hee takdeer hai teree
Mehnat jiskaa naam hai vo jaageer hai teree
Har mushkil se laad saktaa hai do do hatho vaalaa
Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa apnee maataa kaa rakhvaalaa

Dekh kisee ke raaste kee divaar kabhee naa honaa
Jab tak jaage tera padosee tab tak too naa sonaa
Dard paraaye kaa letaa hai koee naseebo vaalaa
Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa apnee maataa kaa rakhvaalaa

Paao jahaa tere pad jaaye phool vah khil jaaye
Pyaar se tere bichhṛe dil bhee aapas me mil jaaye
Kahtaa hai ye chaand sa tukṛaa too hai mohabbat vaalaa
Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa apnee maataa kaa rakhvaalaa
Badkismat ke ghar me huaa hai paidaa kismat vaalaa
Tu hoke baṛaa ban jaanaa apnee maataa kaa rakhvaalaa

O my beloved son, listen to this story that I will tell you. Hear it in my very own words. You are my little one, my little pet, my child! You are the fruit of that I sought from God. I am your father, I may be unable to entertain you and I may never be able to lift you up with both hands. I can surely be your horse whenever you want without you being hurt. But my son, remember just one thing: let your mother’s heart be always full of your love.

After growing up, be the protector of your mother. Oh, you are such a fortunate blessing to be born in an otherwise unfortunate home.

The strength of your own hands will be your fortune. Hard and earnest work will be your valuables. You can ward off any and every difficulty with both hands.

Never be a barrier to other people’s progress. Look out for everyone. Never go to sleep if your neighbor is awake in distress. It is a blessing to share the grief of others.

May the flowers always bloom at your feet, wherever you may be. May your love and care cause people to unite even when they may have difficulties. May your face always be bright and full of love.
