आए भी अकेला

You come to this world on a solitary tide,
And leave all alone, with no one at your side.
This life is a fair, a play, just for a day or two,
A brief, passing moment for me and for you.

The mansions you build with such sorrow and strain,
For friends of convenience, through sun and through rain,
Are strangers at heart, though they play their own part,
You carry their burdens deep within your own heart.

So ask your own soul why you came here to be,
What purpose is yours? What will set your soul free?
Do good in the world and let go of all fear,
Don’t walk to the fire of sin that’s so near.

Take refuge in God and in stillness just wait,
This life is a gift, don’t you learn this too late.
This chance won’t return, so receive it with grace,
The Lord plays His game in this time and this place.
