नमस्कारं – Namaskaara mantra

Obeisance; final salutation 1

ओं नमः शंभवाय
मयोभवाय नमः शङ्कराय
मयस्कराय
नमः शिवाय
शिवतराय 2

Om namah sham-bhavaaya cha mayo-bhavaaya cha
namaḥ shankaraaya cha mayas-karaaya cha
namaḥ shivaaya cha shiva-taraaya cha.

Salutations to the Source of Peace (Shambhava) and the Source of Delight (Mayobhava). Salutations to the One who creates well-being (Shankara) and worldly joy (Mayaskara). Salutations to the Auspicious One (Shiva) and the Most Auspicious One (Shivtara).

हे मङ्गलेश शंकर ! मङ्गल करो हमारा।
पावन प्रकाश पाऍँ परमार्थ पुण् द्वारा।
परिज्ञान पय पिला दो अवढर अगाध दानी।
तेरी शरण में आया है भक्त यह ‘भवी’॥

And now I bow to Thee, O God of calm,
O God of Peace, and Lord of Bliss Divine!
Thy Grace supplies to burning hearts a balm,
Thy blessings in my right desires shine!

नमः salutations, supplication, bow to शंभवाय blissful (temporary and eternal bliss) and मयोभवाय giver of happiness (personal and spiritual), मयोभवा also means delight, well-being, enjoyment and नमः salutations, supplication शंकरा benefactor of mercy and purity also, शङ्कर the cause of prosperity, auspiciousness मयस्कराय giver of well-being, One who blesses us with well-being नमः salutations शिवाय holy शिवतराय giver of well-being, One who blesses us with well-being

ओं शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः

Om shaantih shaantih shaantih

May peace be mine: Physical and material peace,
Environmental and social peace,
Spiritual and cosmic peace.
