Aaghaa-raavaagyaa-aahutih: Two directional oblations1

Make oblations in the Northern side of the Fire:
ओम् अग्नये स्वाहा।
इदमग्नये इदं न मम।

Om agnaye svaahaa.
Idam agnaye, idanna mama.2

Make oblations in the Southern side of the Fire:
ओं सोमाय स्वाहा।
इदं सोमाय इदं न मम।

Om somaaya svaahaa.
Idam somaaya, idanna mama.3

Two oblations of Ghee4

ओं प्रजापतये स्वाहा।
इदं प्रजापतये इदं न मम।

Om prajaa-pataye svaahaa.

इदं इन्द्राय इदं न मम।

Om indraaya svaahaa.

Ahitaagni Homa: Evening oblations12

  1. Two mantras: we make oblations to the northern and southern edges of the fire – let any force that pulls us in opposing directions be vanquished: may we develop the strength to pull our attention, forces and concentration to the centre (God).
