Characteristics of Noble Persons
अभयं सत्त्वसंशुद्धिर्ज्ञानयोगव्यवस्थिति:।
दानं दमश्च यज्ञश्च स्वाध्यायस्तप आर्जवम् ॥
Abhayam sattva-sanshuddhir-gyaana-yoga-vyavas-thitih
Daanam damash-cha yagyash-cha svaadhyaayas-tapa aarjavam.
Bhagavad Gita 16.1
अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्याग: शान्तिरपैशुनम्।
दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम्॥
Ahimsaa satyam-akrodhas-tyaagaḥ shaantir-apaishunam.
Dayaa bhooteṣh-valo-luptvam maardavam hreer-achaapalam.
Bhagavad Gita 16.1
तेजः क्षमा धृति: शौचमद्रोहोनातिमानिता।
भवन्ति सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातस्य भारत ॥
Tejah kshamaa dhritih shaucham-adroho-naati-maanitaa.
Bhavanti sampadam daiveem-abhi-jaatasya bhaarata.

Purity of mind – sattva samshruddhi
Knowledge – gyaana
Physical discipline – yoga
Steadfastness (of character) – vyavasthitih
Charity – daanam
Control of the senses – damah
Selfless sacrifice (doing for others) – yagya
Study of the sacred books – svaadhyaaya
Austerity – tapah
Integrity, honesty, sincerity – aarjavam
Non-violence – ahimsaa
Truthfulness – satyam
Absence of anger – akrodha
Renunciation (of attachment; of desires like lust) – tyaaga
Peacefulness – shaantih
Restraint from fault-finding; non-slander (Do not judge others) – apeshunaam
Compassion – dayaa
Absence of covetousness – alolupatva
Gentleness – maardavam
Modesty; a sense of shame; conscience – hreeh
Lack of fickleness; able to focus – achaapalam
Vigor – tejah
Forgiveness – kshama
Fortitude, patience – dritih
Cleanliness – shaucha
Bearing enmity toward no one – adrohah
Very respectful, Absence of vanity – ati maanitah
