Darshan do ghanshyam

Darshan do ghanshyam naath moree àkhiyàà pyaasee re
Man mandir kee jyot jagaado, ghaṭ ghaṭ vaasee re

Mandir mandir moorat teree, phir bhee na deekhe soorat teree
Yug beete naa ayee milan kee, puranamaasee re

Dwar dayaa kaa jab too khole, pancham sur mè goongaa bole
Andhaa dekhe lagaṛaa chal kar pahùche kaashee re

Panee pee kar pyaas bujhaòò, nainan ko kaise samajhaòò
Ààkh michaulee chhoṛo ab to, man ke basee re

We plead for a glimpse of the Lord. Our eyes are yearning to keep the light (of the Lord) shining brightly in our mind’s temple.

I see the many moorties in every mandir, but I yearn to see your true form O Lord. So many years have passed – when will that auspicious time arrive when I shall have a glimpse of your true vision?

When you open your door of mercy Lord, you make the dumb speak, the blind see, and the cripple walk.

Our physical thirst is easily quenched with water. But, how can I quench my inner thirst, the thirst for a vision of your true self of Lord. Please abandon this game of hide-and-seek and reveal Yourself to me.
