Raam naam japate raho
jab tak ghaṭ mė praaṇ
Kabhee to deen dayaal ke
bhanak paṛegee kaan.
Naam haree kaa jap le bande
phir peeche pachtaayegaa
Too kahataa hai meree kaaya
kaayaa kaa ghumaan kyaa
Chaand saa sundar yah tan tere
miṭṭee me mil jaaegaa
Phir peechhe pchhataayegaa
Baala pan me khela khaayaa
aaya javaanee mast rahaa
Booḍa pan me rog sataaye
khaaṭ paṛaa pchhataayegaa
Vahaȧ se kyaa too laayaa bande
yahaȧ se kyaa le jaayegaa
Muṭhṭhee baandh ke aaya jag me
haath pasaare jaayegaa
Japanaa hai so japale bande
aakhir to miṭ jaayegaa
Kahat kabeer suno bhaayee saadho
karanee ka phal paayegaa
Chant the name of Raam, as long as there is life in the body. The sound of his name will remove misery and grant mercy.
Chant the name of the lord and repent.
You say my body is everything, but what causes the body to exist? As beautiful as it may be to us the body will soon be no more than dirt.
We played in the age of childhood and had fun in the age of youth. Diseases ravaged us in old age and then one day we lay on a bed in regret.
What did you bring into the world when you came? Your hands were closed gently when you were born. Do you know what you brought? And what will you take when you die? Your hands at death will be fully open.
Keep on chanting the name of God and let the burdens fade. Saint Kabir reminds us that what we sow we have to reap, so, keep on focusing on God and reap those blessings.
