Too pyaar kaa saagar hai
Teree ik boond ke pyaase ham
louṭaa jo diyaa toone, chale jaayenge jahaa se ham
Ghaayal man kaa paagal panchee uṛne ko bekraar
Pankh hai komal, aakh hai dhundlee, jaanaa hai saagar paar
Ab too hee isse samjhaa, raah bhoole the kahaa se ham
Idhar jhoom ke gaaye zindagee udhar hai mout khaṛee
Koi kyaa jaane kahaa hai seemaa, uljhan aan paṛee
Kaano me zaraa kah de ke aaye koun dishaa se ham

You are the ocean of Love, and, I am thirsty for a drop of your love – which will make me overcome even death. If you send me away without that love, then I will die thirsty.
The heart is like a wounded bird restless to fly, the wings are delicate, the eyes are foggy; to have to go across the ocean. Only you can explain it; make me understand – from where have we forgotten our path?
On one side there is death, on the other there are the pleasures of life. Who knows where the boundaries are, where the thin line that separates life and death is? I am confused. Tell me, whisper to my ears, from which direction we have come?
