एक अंजान हसीना से मुलाकात की रात

दिल में तूफ़ान उठाते हुए

डर के बिजली से अचानक वो लिपटना उसका
और फिर शर्म से बलखाके सिमटना उसका
कभी देखी न सुनी ऐसी हो
कभी देखी न सुनी ऐसी तिलिस्मात कि रात
सुर्ख आंचल को दबाकर जो निचोड़ा उसने
दिल पे जलता हुआ एक तीर सा छोड़ा उसने
आग पानी में लगाते हुए

मेरे नग़्मों में जो बसती है वो तस्वीर थी वो
नौजवानी के हसीं ख़्वाब की ताबीर थी वो
आस्मनों से उतर आई थी जो रात की रात
I could never forget that rainy night when I met an unknown Beauty. I will remember that night for the rest of my life.
There was water dripping from her silky hair. And, those droplets lingered on her rosy cheeks. She caused a stir in my heart which will be remembered for the rest of my life.
I will remember that she was startled by the thunder and lightning and she shyly cowered. I would have never seen or heard anything like this before.
Her Image is captured in all my songs. She completes and fulfills my dreams. She seems to have descended from the heavens. I will never forget that night when I met this unknown Beauty.
