जाऊँ कहाँ बता ऐ दिल
दुनिया बड़ी है संगदिल
चाँदनी आई घर जलाने
सूझे ना कोई मंज़िल

बनके टूटे यहाँ आरज़ू के महल
ये ज़मीं आसमाँ भी गए है बदल
कहती है ज़िंदगी इस जहाँ से निकल

हाए इस पार तो आँसुओं की डगर
जाने उस पार क्या हो किसे है ख़बर
ठोकरें खा रही हर कदम पर नज़र

Where can I go, please tell me oh heart. This world is very cruel. The moonlight has come to emblazon my house, but I can see no destination ahead.

The palaces of desire that once stood here have now crumbled. This earth and sky too are changed. Life tells me to leave this world.

This side is but a pathway of tears. What is on the other side, who knows? Here we stumble at each step and each glance.
