जाने वालों ज़रा, मुड़ के देखो मुझे
 एक इन्सान हूँ मैं तुम्हारी तरह
जिसने सबको रचा, अपने ही रूप से
उसकी पहचान हूँ मैं तुम्हारी तरह
जाने वालों ज़रा …

इस अनोखे जगत की मैं तक़दीर हूँ
मैं विधाता के हाथों की तसवीर हूँ
एक तसवीर हूँ
इस जहाँ के लिये, धरती माँ के लिये
शिव का वरदान हूँ, मैं तुम्हारी तरह
जाने वालों ज़रा…

मन के अंदर छिपाए मिलन की लगन
अपने सूरज से हूँ एक बिछड़ी किरण
एक बिछड़ी किरण
फिर रहा हूँ भटकता, मैं यहाँ से वहाँ
और परेशान हूँ, मैं तुम्हारी तरह
जाने वालों ज़रा…

मेरे पास आओ छोड़ो यह सारा भरम
जो मेरा दुख वही है तुम्हारा भी ग़म
है तुम्हारा भी ग़म
देखता हूँ तुम्हे, जानता हूँ तुम्हे
लाख अन्जान हूँ, मैं तुम्हारी तरह
जाने वालों ज़रा…

O passers-by, take a moment. Look at me, I’m a human being like you, the one who created everyone with his own image, I am his sign like you. Take a moment…

Of this uncommon world, I’m the destiny, made by the creator’s hands, I’m a picture, For this world, for the mother-earth, I’m Shiva’s boon like you. Take a moment…

Concealing in the mind the urge to mingle, separated from my sun, I am a stray sunbeam, going about, wandering here and there, and I am bewildered like you. Take a moment…

Come with me, leave aside this illusion/doubt; My sorrow is your grief too, I see you, I know you yet I am naive, not knowing of millions, like you. Take a moment…

जाने वालों ज़रा those who pass by  मुड़ turn, twist के देखो मुझे look at me एक इन्सान one human मैं I am तुम्हारी you are तरह the type, sort, kind जिसने सबको all रचा shape, make अपने ही रूप own image./form उसकी पहचान his identity इस अनोखे unique जगत world तक़दीर fate  विधाता creator हाथों hands तसवीर picture इस जहाँ के लिये for this place धरती माँ के लिये for mother earth शिव का वरदान हूँ Lord Shiva’s blessing/boon मन के अंदर inner mind छिपाए hidden मिलन की लगन meeting of devotion/love अपने सूरज your sun एक one बिछड़ी lost किरण ray (light ray) फिर रहा हूँ भटकता am wandering again मैं यहाँ से वहाँ i am here and there और परेशान and worried मेरे पास आओ come to me छोड़ो यह सारा भरम leave all of this behind जो मेरा दुख my sorrow वही है तुम्हारा भी ग़म is same as your sorrow देखता हूँ तुम्हे I see you जानता हूँ तुम्हे I know you लाख अन्जान हूँ ignorant of millions.
