Chundariyaa kaṭati jaaye re, umariya ghaṭati jaaye re
Kaam kaṭhan jeewan thoṛaa, kaam kaṭhan hai re
Kaam kathan jeewan thoṛaa, pagla ṭman ghabaraye
Dukh-dard sahe banjaare bhaiya, dhoop me dekhe taare
Din-raat bahaaye paseena ham, kuch haath naa aaye hamare
Hamaree saaree mehnat maayaa, ṭhagwaa ṭhag le jaye
Dhartee pe kitne baaraa-maase, beet gaye re aa ke,
Duniya ke liye hai leelaa teree, hamre bhaag me phààke raamaa
Hamre bhag me phanke
Kagaj ho to bààch lu raamaa, bhaag naa bààcho jaaye
Sansar me tere luṭ machee, aur jaan ke paṛ gaye laale
Ab rok janam kee chakkee re, Sanasar chalaane waale
Kaal paṛaa hai roti ka aur duniyaa baṛhatee jaye
With each day passing, the Protective Garment of Life gets more torn, and life itself gets shorter. We become frantic and confused when we realize that there is still so much to achieve in such a short time left to live.
0 brothers traveling the Path of Life! We have endured misery/pain, and frustration while earning a living. Day and night we toil, but to no avail. Some unknown force ultimately snatches away all that we accumulate.
0 God! Years come and go while we live on Earth, and nothing substantial happens for us. It would seem that You created the Earth only to display Your Creative Potency. In the meantime, we suffer misery as our allotment. Alas! If only we could have deciphered our Fate the way we read and decipher what’s written on paper!
Everywhere we turn we see the rich and powerful stealing and hoarding Earth’s resources. Human lives are in grave danger because there is little left for poor people to subsist on. Lord, You are the Ruler of the World. Put a check on uncontrolled growth in the world population. Hunger has reached alarming proportions, and the world population is still expanding!
