Saavan kaa maheenaa

Saavan kaa maheenaa paavan kare sor
Jiyaraa re jhoome aise
Jaise banama naache mor

Raama gajab dhaaye yeh purvaiyyaa
Naiyya sambhaalo kiṭ khoye ho khivaiyya
Purvaiya ke aage chale naa koyee jor
Jiyaraa re jhoome aise
Jaise banama naache mor
Saavan kaa…

Maujavaa kare kyaa jaane hamko isaaraa
Jaana kahaa hai poochhe nadiyaa kee dhaaraa
Marjee hai tumharee le jaao jis or
Jiyaraa re jhoome aise
Jaise banama naache mor
Saavan kaa…

Jinke balam bairee gaye hai bidesvaa
Aaye hai leke unke pyaar ka sandesvaa
Kaaree matvaaree ghaṭaaye ghan ghor
Jiyaraa re jhoome aise
Jaise banama naache mor
Saavan kaa…

It is the monsoon season and the sound of the wind is all around. The heart dances like a peacock in the forest.

O Lord, how rough is this wind! Take hold of the boat. Are you lost, traveller? But none can stand a chance against this wind.

Who understands what the waves are saying as they gesture constantly to us? And the stream asks the river, “Where are you going?”. And the response is: “As you wish; let us go in any direction.

Those unfeeling lovers have gone far away; They have brought with them a message of love: The dark tremendous rain clouds; The heart dances with joy, just as a peacock dances in the forest.
