FLAG RAISING
With the following song, Om Jhanda can be raised at the four sides. If there is no access to the four sides, the flag can be erected at the front of the home or at a central part of the home that is identified as the prayer place.
यह ओम का झंडा आता है सोने वालों जाग चलो
लेकर उगते रवि की लाली में नित्य वसंती हरियाली
यह ले ले लहरें आता है धरती के जागे भाग चलो
जब गोली गोले बरसेंगे यह सिर कट कट सरसेंगे
हम मौत के भीषण आंगन में हंस-हंस खेलेंगे फाग, चलो
पर्वत को कह दो नम जाए सागर को कह दो थम जाए
यह एक बनाने दुनिया को उम्र है अनुराग चलो
अब प्रेम सच्चाई विद्या का यह झंडा लहराया बांका
हिंसा पाखंड अविद्या से कह दो अब तुम भाग चलो
Yah Om kaa jhanḍaa aataa hai Sone vaalo jaag chalo
Lekar ugate ravi kee laalee Le nitya vasanti hariyaalee
Yah le le lehrė aataa hai Dhartee ko jaage bhaag chalo
Jab golee gole barsenge Ye sir kaṭ kaṭ par sarsenge
Ham maut ke bheeṣan aangan mė Hȧs-hȧs khelenge phaag chalo
Parvat ko keh do nam jaaye Saagar ko keh do tham jaaye
Yah ek banaane duniyaa ko Umraa hai anuraag chalo
Ab prem sachaaee vidyaa kaa Yah jhanḍaa lehraayaa baakaa
Himsaa paakhanḍ avidyaa se Kah do ab tum bhaag chalo
This Om Jhanda is unfurling. So too, awake, arise, everyone; be active, not inert.
The Om Jhanda represents the colors of the rising sun and the ever-refreshing breath of the seasons. This flag is fluttering in the wind like waves, calling on humanity to awaken and be active.
This flag keeps us happy and inspires us to laugh even in moments of sorrow. The wise persons sometimes are persecuted – but the fluttering awakening call of the Om Jhanda keeps them going.
May the mountains bow and may the oceans stay still – all in respect of the Om Jhanda which has the power to unite everyone toward a wonderful, focused, and great path.
Love, Truth, and Wisdom, these powerful forces are represented by the Om Jhanda. Let these forces prevail throughout. May the Om Jhanda keep us awake to our task of ridding the world of superstition and violence.
