Om-aaroha-imam-ashmaanam-ashmeva
tvam sthiraa bhava.
Abhi-tiśhţha pritanyato-avabaa-dhasva pritanaa-yatah.
O bride, be kindly disposed to ascend this stone. May you assume the firmness of a rock in your life. May your decisions be always firm. May you resist all problems and overcome any quarrel. May that firmness always guide me and our family.
- The piece of stone is usually the grinding stone (Sil) in the Kitchen (this is being used to grind spices and other food ingredients – that is, through the action of using the stone, the food is given its best flavors. This stone represents the firmness (rocklike) of the exchanged vows.
