Vedic Havan

O Leading Light, who knows the Infinite way,
Drive all the shadows of our hearts away;
From every slight and enmity set free,
We offer up our spirit now to Thee.

We contemplate the Self-Effulgent Divine (Agni) as the Knower of the Infinite, Honorable Way (Varuṇa). As we perform this act with absolute excellence, we actively release and drive away (Pra-mumugdhi) all universal enmities (Viśhvaa Dveṣhaaṃsi) and disrespectful tendencies from our lives. We commit to a state of brilliance (Śhośhuchaano) that leaves no room for petty anger or dishonor. This offering is for the benevolence of all, not for my ego.

Stay close to us as dawn is to the sun,
Until our earthly work of truth is done;
Bestow Your grace and keep us in Your sight,
To lead us toward a future filled with light.

O Radiant Protector, we recognize Your presence as Nearest (Nediṣhṭhaḥ) to us, just as the light of day is inseparable from the dawn. We seek the influence of Enlightened Persons (Varuṇam) and align our lives with Your grace to grow in meaningful prosperity (Mṛiḍeekam) and spiritual vitality. Your laws are spread like nets across the sky,
In every star and every human sigh;
O Great Creator, set our spirits free,
To live in balance and in harmony.

Guided by Your cosmic order, we actively Loosen and Eradicate (Śhrathaaya) any bondage or fear that threatens us from above (Uttamam), below (Adhamam), or anywhere in between (Madhyamam). We vow to live with absolute discipline (Vrate), remaining sinless and untied in a state of sovereign, spiritual freedom.
